Enjoy a Nice Barbecue with the Right Barbecue Tips and Techniques

Having a barbecue is often a good way to get away from daily routines and enjoy weekends. Barbecue is often a good way to gain more friends as well. However, without the right barbecue tips and techniques, a barbecue may turn out very dull instead. This is why the right tips and techniques are of great importance.

To start it off, it is important to understand that charcoal barbecue grills are not likely the right choice. Such grills have more uncontrollable flare-ups compared to those of the gas grills. Also, it is important to preserve a rather cool spot where it is easier to move the food around when things get hotter. With that being said, it is not recommended at all to put the food on all available areas of the grills.

The second thing important is to put the fastest cooking food when the fire is at its peak temperature. Then, when the fire temperature has decreased, people can then put other food that usually cooks pretty slowly. Bigger meat pieces are one good example.

The next important thing speaking of the right barbecue tips and techniques is that people should always pay their focused attention on food that tends to flare up quite easily. Some common examples of such food are sausages, hamburgers and chicken that is cooked with its skin. But what if this kind of food does flare up? Well, it is then that a water filled spray bottle comes in very handy.

Yet another thing to consider is that if people want to barbecue in the right ways, they should avoid the use of the long old fork commonly used while barbecuing. This is because such a fork has a tendency to flare up the fire. Also, it will cause the juices to go downwards to the pit bottom leaving the meat dry. People usually misunderstand that this is the right way to barbecue. However, obtaining tough dry meat this way is not the way to barbecue.

With that being said, it is more preferable to use tongs instead, wire brush to clean the grills and spatula. Yet, people should not press down their meat with a spatula when they put the meat on the grills. This, also, will cause the juices to go out of the meat and this will give out a tough dry meat which is not likely to have sufficient nutrients, if at all.

People should also know the ideal times for cooking certain types of meat. A beef brisket weighing 9-12 lbs., for example, should be cooked for around 14 to 18 hours. There are various sites on the internet where people can get more information on ideal cooking times for certain types of meat.

However, the longer the cooking times, the better the barbecue result people will obtain. When meat is cooked long enough, it will take in the good flavor of the barbecue smoke. Furthermore, it will also give out that nice ring of smoke. Pork butt and brisket, for example, if cooked long enough, will give out their natural flavors without foil wrapping.

It is also recommended that people do not use too little wood in order to start firing the charcoal grills — if it is the charcoal grills they use. This will more often than not give too much smoke to the food being cooked. As a result, the food may become damaged.

Last but not least, a common rule of thumb to consider is that a person should have only half a pound of a boneless piece of meat. Yet, if there seems to be more kids than adults, the fewer amounts will do. But if there are people who have a tendency to eat more, it is better to serve more than half a pound.
